NSW: Man sues Star City casino over gambling losses

A Sydney man is suing Star City casino, claiming it induced him to gamble away more than $3
million.

In his statement of claim, ALEXANDER PRESTON says the inducements included telling him that
if he remained a high roller patron the casino would make available business contracts.

They included contracts for the supply of works of art for the casino, for designs of
merchandise bearing the Star City logo and for the supply of prints.

He also claims the casino allowed him to gamble between November 1996 and March 1998 while
intoxicated, in breach of its statutory duty.

Star City Queens Counsel barrister JOE CAMPBELL has asked the New South Wales Supreme Court
to throw out the case, and the hearing is continuing.
